Kahles Helia 2-10 x 50i Scope

KAHLES HELIA 2–10x50i – A Versatile All-Round Hunting Riflescope

The KAHLES HELIA 2–10x50i is a high-quality, exceptionally versatile hunting riflescope designed to cover a wide range of hunting situations. Its 2–10x magnification range, 50 mm objective lens, and wide 21 m field of view at 100 m make it an excellent choice for hunting with dogs, stalking, stand hunting, and low-light hunting. KAHLES describes the HELIA 2–10x50i as the perfect all-rounder in its riflescope range.

This version features an illuminated 4-Dot reticle and a standard 30 mm main tube. Weighing just 585 grams and measuring 341 mm in length, it is also well suited for hunting rifles used in active and mobile hunting.

2–10x Magnification – An Exceptionally Versatile Range

The strength of the HELIA 2–10x50i lies in its broad range of applications. At the lowest 2x magnification, the field of view is 21 meters at 100 m, making it easier to acquire targets quickly and track moving game. This makes the riflescope particularly useful for moose and deer hunting, as well as hunting with dogs.

2–4x magnification is especially suitable for short to medium shooting distances and situations involving moving game. The wide field of view helps maintain good awareness of the surroundings.

4–7x magnification is an excellent general-purpose range for typical hunting situations. It provides sufficient magnification for accurate shot placement on moose, white-tailed deer, and roe deer while still allowing targets to be acquired quickly.

8–10x magnification provides additional precision for longer shooting distances and open terrain. The 10x magnification is particularly useful for stand hunting along field edges and in clear-cut areas. At the maximum 10x magnification, the field of view is 4.1 m at 100 m.

50 mm Objective Lens – Excellent Performance in Low Light

The 50 mm objective lens makes the HELIA 2–10x50i a particularly capable option in low-light conditions compared with general-purpose and driven-hunt riflescopes equipped with smaller 42 mm or 24 mm objective lenses. KAHLES specifically highlights the model’s performance during early morning and evening hunting.

At the same time, the 50 mm objective lens keeps the overall dimensions reasonably compact. The HELIA 2–10x50i is an excellent choice for hunters who want strong low-light performance without the size and weight of a large 56 mm riflescope.

The twilight factor ranges from 6.2 to 22.4, depending on magnification. Combined with KAHLES‘ high-quality optical system, the 50 mm objective lens makes this riflescope particularly useful for early morning and evening deer hunting. The manufacturer emphasizes the HELIA series‘ high contrast and exceptional sharpness across the entire field of view.

Illuminated 4-Dot Reticle

The HELIA 2–10x50i is equipped with a 4-Dot reticle, a clean and easy-to-use hunting reticle. It is positioned in the second focal plane (SFP), meaning its apparent size remains constant when magnification is adjusted.

The 4-Dot reticle is designed specifically for hunting applications. Its clear design naturally guides the eye toward the center of the scope, while the illuminated center dot makes precise aiming easier in both daylight and low-light conditions. Even at the maximum 10x magnification, the reticle remains uncluttered and does not unnecessarily obscure the target.

The SFP design is also beneficial at lower magnifications. Because the reticle does not appear smaller as magnification decreases, it remains easy to see even in fast-moving hunting situations.

Day/Night Illumination and Automaticlight

The 4-Dot reticle features illumination suitable for both daytime and nighttime use. The illumination system of the KAHLES HELIA series is designed to provide bright illumination for daylight conditions and more subdued illumination for low-light hunting.

The riflescope also features KAHLES Automaticlight technology, which automatically switches off the reticle illumination when it is not needed. This reduces unnecessary battery consumption and makes illuminated reticle operation more convenient during hunting.

Well Suited for Clip-On Night Vision Devices

KAHLES highlights compatibility with front-mounted night vision devices, commonly known as clip-on devices, as one of the important features of the HELIA 2–10x50i.

The combination of 2x minimum magnification and a 50 mm objective lens makes this riflescope well suited for such applications. The same riflescope can therefore remain mounted on the rifle for normal daylight and low-light hunting and be complemented with a compatible front-mounted device when required.

High-Quality Optics and OILPHOBIC Coating

The HELIA series is known for excellent contrast and high image sharpness, even toward the edges of the field of view. KAHLES also uses an OILPHOBIC coating on the lenses, making them easier to clean and helping maintain optical performance in demanding hunting conditions.

The generous 95 mm eye relief provides ample distance between the shooter’s eye and the eyepiece. This is an important feature, particularly when using more powerful hunting calibers.

What Is the KAHLES HELIA 2–10x50i Best Suited For?

The HELIA 2–10x50i is an excellent choice for hunters who want one high-quality riflescope capable of handling as many different hunting situations as possible. It is particularly well suited for hunting moose, white-tailed deer, roe deer, and wild boar.

At lower 2–3x magnification, the riflescope performs well when hunting with dogs and in situations requiring quick target acquisition. The middle 4–6x magnification range covers a large proportion of typical hunting situations, while 8–10x magnification provides additional precision for longer shooting distances.

Within the HELIA range, the 2–10x50i occupies a particularly attractive position. The HELIA 1.6–8x42i is slightly lighter and more focused on active hunting, while the HELIA 2.4–12x56i places greater emphasis on low-light and stationary hunting thanks to its larger objective lens. The HELIA 2–10x50i sits between these models as an exceptionally well-balanced all-round riflescope. KAHLES itself describes this model as „The Perfect All-Rounder.“

The KAHLES HELIA 2–10x50i is an excellent premium all-round hunting riflescope for hunters who want to combine a wide field of view, strong low-light performance, and a practical maximum magnification of 10x in one compact package. It is not as specialized for driven hunting as the HELIA 1–5x24i, nor as heavily focused on low-light hunting as the 56 mm HELIA models. Its greatest strength is its versatility.
