WaxTex – Waxed Canvas for Demanding Use

A key feature of the Fjell Ace Jacket is its waxed WaxTex canvas, which combines the durability of polyester with the natural feel of cotton. The robust fabric is designed to withstand contact with branches, bushes, and other vegetation, making the jacket well suited to active hunting and other demanding outdoor activities.

The wax treatment makes the outer fabric naturally wind- and water-repellent. However, the Fjell Ace does not feature a waterproof membrane and is not a fully waterproof rain or shell jacket like an HWS® jacket. Its main strengths are durability, simple construction, and the ability to maintain its protective properties through re-waxing.

Protection in Changing Weather

A snap-button storm flap covers the front zipper, helping reduce the amount of wind and moisture that can enter through the zipper area.

The integrated hood can be adjusted with a drawcord for a closer fit around the head, providing additional protection against rain and wind. The cuffs feature two-position button adjustment, allowing them to be tightened around the wrists or left looser when wearing gloves.

Radio Pocket with Antenna Opening

A zippered chest pocket with an antenna opening provides practical storage for a hunting radio or similar communication device. The antenna opening makes it convenient to carry and use a radio equipped with a long antenna.
