MetsäDeo 50 ml

MetsäDeo 50ml is a new Finnish outdoor product developed against deer/moose flies. The product is manufactured in Lempäälä, Finland. The product has been tested together with nature walkers in the fall of 2021, and the natural resources center LUKE has also conducted an efficacy study of the product. According to Luke’s test, two-thirds of the deer flies avoided or stayed away from the treated individuals. Based on the result, it has been established that MetsäDeo has a partial repellent property in indoor greenhouse tests. MetsäDeo’s effectiveness outdoors can be estimated to be moderate or good, depending on, for example, the number of moose/deer flies in the area. The test group of MetsäDeo 50ml testers who moved in nature consisted of 17 people; 9 men, 7 women and 1 child (6 years old). More than 100 test trials  were accumulated and the average time spent in the forest was 2.5 hours. The test sites stretched from the Oulu region all the way to southern Finland. The tests were done in pairs, where one test person had been treated with MetsäDeo and the other had not. At the end of the test, there were 5-80 deer flies in the clothes/hair of untreated persons and 0-2 flies in those who used Deo. The biggest single biggest difference in the test results was 0 flies the person who used the product and 76 flies the one who did not. LUKE’s test was done as skin contact, while the social influencers’ test was done as outer clothing contact.

Direction:
The MetsäDeo product is sprayed on outerwear from a distance of about 20 cm: 5 sprays on the hat. 3 sprays on the coat collar. 3 sprays on the cuffs. Do not spray on skin. The product does not contain environmentally harmful biocides and does not harm insects. Avoid unnecessary skin contact. Avoid getting the substance on broken skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children.
